Giannis Paschos

Giannis Paschos was born in 1954 in Giannena. He is a late bloomer in the world of letters as his first career was in academia; he is an Ichthyology Professor, with dozens of articles published in peer reviewed journals, who has participated in many international conferences and has been a consultant to major projects both for the Public and the Private sector. In 2016 he was awarded a special prize for his scientific contributions to the field.

In March 2005, Giannis' first poetry collection, Lila Teman, was published by Odos Panos. Other works: poetry collection Life without Time Schedule (Melani, 2007), the short stories Lord Have Mercy (Agon, 2008),) and Do Not Leave (Indiktos, 2013), the poetry collection Large Canals (Melani, 2015), the short story collections The Magical Tales of Don Domingo (Perispomeni, 2017), and Beware of the Infants (Perispomeni, 2020), and the memoir Chronicles of a Dyslexic (Perispomeni, 2022). His short story collection One Night for One Year (Melani, 2015) was shortlisted for the Best Short Stories Collection Award by Diavazo magazine and is about to be published in French by Editions Desmos. The Magical Tales of Don Domingo (Perispomeni, 2020) is currently being reprinted, and its opening is shortlisted for publication in English by Asymptote Magazine. His short story Ginette, the Content is to be published by the Brussels Review.

Chronicles of a Dyslexic Author, published in August 2022, is already being reprinted for the fifth time. In February 2024, it premiered as a sold-out theatre monologue at Peiraos 104 and is about to become a Greek film.
